The Sofirn IF25A (released in 2020) uses 4 x Luminus SST20 LEDs, Anduril firmware, TIR reflector and 1 x 21700 Li-Ion battery. The powerful emitter provides up to 3800 lm output, 44200 cd intensity, and a beam distance of 420m. This flashlight can charge the battery with an integrated charger, and it works with any USB power source. The battery indicator lets you know when the battery is low, charging (RED), or fully charged (GREEN).

The memory function will remember the last brightness level when you turn on the flashlight. It has a strobe function as a self defense tool by disorienting the person it is aimed at. The ramping mode lets you seamlessly ramp the output up and down over almost the entire output range. It has the SOS beacon function for an emergency situation. The SOS flashes Morse code so you can signal for help when needed. The Anduril firmware is a well refined, full feature & highly customisable UI that is easy to use, including the basic single click to ON/OFF and hold to change brightness.

The IF25A has a built-in low Voltage Protection (LVP) that makes the light step down to a lower level when the battery is lower than 2.8V, and if the light is already at the lowest level, it shuts itself off. The built-in thermal control adjusts the brightness level automatically when the light temperature reaches 45℃ to keep the light from overheating. You can reset the temperature limit and calibrate the temperature sensor through the user interface (a series of switch clicks).

Operation:

1 - ON/OFF is accessed by a single click

2 - Double-click from ON or OFF engages Turbo for maximum brightness

3 - Three clicks from ON to switch to stepped ramp mode

4 - Ramping Up/Down: Press and hold to make it brighter. Release button and briefly and hold again to make it dimmer

5 - MOON: press & hold the switch, it turns on at the moonlight(FLOOR level), it makes a subtle “blink” to provide a timing hint if you want to stay there. If you keep holding, it ramps up

6 - Three clicks from OFF to engage battery check (3 blinks, a short pause, then 8 blinks would indicate 3.8V)

7 - Electronic lockout is activated with four clicks

8 - Factory reset: If you changed a setting accidentally and don’t know how to solve it, you can simply use the Reset function to go back to factory settings.

  • Unscrew the tailcap.
  • Press and hold the switch for 3 seconds while you tighten the tailcap.
