The Sofirn C8G SST40 uses Luminus SST40 LED, Smooth reflector and 1 x 21700 Li-Ion battery. The powerful emitter in this flashlight provides up to 2000 lm output, 80000 cd intensity, and a beam distance of 565 m. The properly focused smooth reflector gives you a more cohesive narrow beam and therefore a longer throw.

The memory function will remember the last used mode. It has a strobe function as a self defense tool by disorienting the person it is aimed at. The ramping mode lets you seamlessly ramp the output up and down over almost the entire output range. It has the SOS beacon function for an emergency situation. The SOS flashes Morse code so you can signal for help when needed.

The LED indicator shows power status for 5 seconds when turns on. Green if power is good enough, Red if short of power, Flashing Red if running out of power. The flashlight turns off automatically if the voltage is lower than 2.7 volts. This flashlight has a built-in low voltage protection (LVP) to prevent damage to the cell from over-discharge. The built-in thermal control (ATR) automatically adjusts brightness output when the driver temperature reaches 50C to prevent overheating.

Operation:

1 - Turn ON/OFF: Fully press tail switch with Single click to turn ON & OFF. Tap the tail switch to momentarily turn on the light.

2 - Mode Cycle: While the light is ON, single click the side switch (when in Group 1) for Low/Mid/High

3 - Ramp up/down: While ON, long press the side switch (when in Group 2) to ramp up and down 10lm to 2000lm range. Release and press again within 1.5 seconds to change direction. Same direction when ramping again after 1.5s. It blinks when reaching max or min brightness.

4 - Mode-Group change: 4 fast clicks while ON to change between Group 1 & Group 2

5 - Turbo: Double click

6 - Moonlight: Double click while in Turbo, or press-and-hold the e-switch while powering on the flashlight

7 - Strobe: While the light is ON, triple click to activate Stobe mode

8 - Blinky mode cycle: While in Strobe mode, long press to cycle through Strobe - Beacon - SOS. Single click to return to normal brightness.

9 - While OFF, press and hold side switch and click tail switch to activate Eco mode
